About Spider Solitaire

Spider Solitaire runs right in your browser on desktop, tablet and phone: no download, no account, just press Play.
How to play Spider Solitaire
- Spider Solitaire uses two decks (104 cards) dealt into ten columns; only the top card of each column is face up.
- Move a card onto any card one rank higher (a 7 onto an 8), whatever the suit. A group of cards can only move together if it is in order and all one suit.
- When a column holds a full run from King down to Ace in one suit, it is cleared from the table automatically.
- When you run out of moves, tap the stock to deal one new card onto every column. You cannot deal while a column is empty.
- Clear all eight runs to win.
Controls
- Drag a card or a same-suit run to move it
- Tap or click a card: it moves to the best spot automatically
- Tap the stock (top right), D or Space: deal ten new cards
- Z or Ctrl+Z: undo (unlimited)
- H: hint, press again for the next suggestion
- N: new game; Restart replays the same deal
Tips and strategy
- Start with 1 suit (Relaxed). Two suits (Classic) and four suits (Expert) are much harder because mixed-suit groups cannot be moved together.
- Build in one suit whenever you have a choice: a same-suit run can be moved as a group later, a mixed one cannot.
- Turning over face-down cards matters more than tidy stacks; prefer moves that uncover a card.
- An empty column is your most valuable space. Use it to rearrange runs before filling it with a King.
- Before tapping the stock, make every useful move first, since a deal covers every column.
Frequently asked questions
Is Spider Solitaire free?+
Yes. Spider Solitaire is free in your browser with no download, no account and nothing to buy.
What is the difference between 1, 2 and 4 suits?+
The number of suits sets the difficulty. With 1 suit every card can join any run, so most games can be won; with 4 suits runs are often blocked by other suits, which makes it the hardest mode.
Why can't I deal new cards?+
You cannot deal from the stock while any column is empty. Move a card or a run into the empty column first, then deal.
How does scoring work in Spider Solitaire?+
You start with 500 points, lose 1 point for every move and earn 100 points for each completed King-to-Ace run.
Can I undo moves?+
Yes, undo is unlimited. Press Z or Ctrl+Z, or use the Undo button.
Is my game saved if I close the page?+
Yes. An unfinished game is restored when you come back on the same device, and your stats for each difficulty are saved in the browser.
Can I play Spider Solitaire on my phone?+
Yes. All ten columns fit on a phone screen; tap a card to move it or drag it with your finger.
