Midnight Chess: Twelve Tactics is a free online Board game that runs right in your browser. There is nothing to download and no account to create: press Play and you are in. It works on desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile.
A full-rules chess game with twelve tactical lessons across four chapters: checkmates, castling on both sides, en passant, promotion to any piece, stalemate, insufficient material, the fifty-move rule and threefold repetition. Solve each fixed position's goal, or play a standard game against a three-level AI or a friend on the same device, with unlimited undo and a move list. Controls: click a piece, then a highlighted square; choose your promotion piece.
How to play
Press the Play button to load the game. Most games are played with the mouse or by tapping the screen; keyboard games use the arrow keys, WASD or the space bar. Read the in-game instructions for the exact controls, and use the fullscreen button for the best experience.
